This is a randomizer for Pokemon Crystal. New! Version 1.5b

Pokemon Emerald Randomizer. Just for funsies one day, I decided to make a quick tool to take an old pokemon game from one of my favorite generations and completely randomize all the wild pokemon in it. Since then, Randomizers have spread like wildfire and are available for all generations from myself and many other talented programmers! Generate template images of your nuzlocke run. If you are still on this page, you can try deleting localstorage after saving your nuzlocke.json data in a safe place. Below is your nuzlocke.

1. The Universal Pokemon Randomizer is a program which will give you a new experience playing Pokemon games. In the same vein as previously released randomizers, it provides a customized gameplay experience by allowing you to randomize many things: The Starter Pokemon choices. The Wild Pokemon you encounter in grass, caves and other places.
2. The current release of the Randomizer is 1.7.2, released. Download for Windows (EXE version) Download for all other platforms (executable JAR) Since there's no longer a download page with a changelog for each version, you can see the list of changes per version by clicking here. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE NOTE RANDOMIZATION OPTION, BUT YOU DO HAVE THE INSTRUMENT RANDOMIZATION OPTION, REDOWNLOAD.
THE RANDOMIZE MUSIC OPTION CAUSES CRASHES.
The Readme contains the changes, but they are to make the game more playable, plus some extra goodies

It lets you randomize:
-Pokemon that appear in the wild
-What moves they learn leveling up
-What Types they are (there's about a 50% chance it will be a single type)
-What they evolve into (though conditions for their evolution remain the same)
-Their cries (Now randomizes cries better!)
-Trainer Pokemon
-Other pokemon/legendaries
-Pokemon Stats (right now, the 6 base stats are shuffled for each pokemon)
-Starters
-Color pokemon based on type(s)

All of these options are well, options, meaning you can select all, none, one, etc.
Also, only a few have it right now, but I'm adding list support.
A list is a text file, with index numbers, and only those will be used!
Want to randomize starters to be only starters? then you can make a list with the 6 (as of gen 1&2) starter's numbers
and save it as a text file. (more info in the readme)

If you select shuffle pokemon stats with other pokemon, it will give pokemon a random set of stats from another random pokemon (ex. ratatta might get magikarp stats) The pokemon will get all 6 stats from another pokemon, but the stat they are assigned to is still random (hp might be put in speed, attack into def, etc) Also, once a pokemon's stats are picked, it isnt picked again (you wont get 5 pokemon having ho-oh stats)

[Guide] How to Randomize/Edit Pokemon X/Y or ORAS

1. Getting The Game Files

   a) To make a HANS patch (simpler) just use BrainDump on your 3DS to dump your Pokemon X/Y. Then proceed to step 2.

   b) To make a CIA installable (harder, easier to access) your going to need a CIA of Pokemon X/Y (google is your friend). Then your going to want follow this guide here. Remember to download the Pack at the very top. ONLY FOLLOW THE EXTRACTION STEP. Then continue to step 2.

2. Editing

   To randomize the game just download pk3DS. Once it is downloaded, open it, go to File - Open and find where you extracted your CIA or where your game dump is. Open the folder that has the ROMFS and EXEFS folders inside it. Once it's open edit anything you want. But not anything under the CRO section, this will break your game/patch, APPEALING TO COMMENTS: You can use CRO modifiers, but you must have Luma3DS as your CFW

3. Saving

   a) If you were editing a game dump to make a HANS patch, simply stay in pk3DS, go to Tools - Rebuild - ROMFS, and save it as (Pokemon X: 00055d00.romfs, Pokemon Y: 00055e00.romfs) MAKE SURE THEY ARE SAVED AS .ROMFS. Voila, that's it for this section! Continue to step 4

   b) If you are using an extracted CIA, simply go back to the guide and follow the Rebuilding Section. Then continue to step 4.

4. Usage

   a) Once you have your .romfs file, open up your 3DS SD card, make a new folder called HANS, and place the .romfs file in there. Then, boot into Hombrew Launcher, open HANS, select your game, put ROMFS ---> SD to YES and click play! You have to do this every time you want to play the randomizer. Finished!

   b) Once you have you .cia file from step 3, drag it onto the root of your SD card and install it using a CIA installer of your choice. Then boot up the game and voila! It's randomized, just open it from the home screen like normal.
